The guy who didn’t love exams collected two master’s degrees.
Even Emil would have asked for a second opinion on that prediction.
The next chapter · MS Orthopaedics, 2026
Two master’s degrees. One extraordinary milestone. Congratulations, Dr Emil Vincent — this one deserves a proper celebration.
Leave a little love ↓
A lot to be proud of
MS Orthopaedics and MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine: surgical training alongside the science of sport and movement.
Medical and orthopaedic education in India. Postgraduate sport and exercise medicine study in the United Kingdom.
The FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine adds a further educational focus on the game he cares about.
A little perspective. A lot of pride.
Two master’s degrees. Years of training. And now, one very proud family.
UNFPA estimated India’s population at 1.4639 billion in 2025. The Indian Orthopaedic Association’s 2026 verification portal reports over 18,000 active life members. Membership is not a national count of practising orthopaedic surgeons, so we do not calculate a surgeon-to-population ratio from it.
The often-quoted 10,000 is an older IOA membership figure. A 2016 Indian Journal of Orthopaedics editorial estimated about 20,000 surgeons when non-members were included; that is historical context, not a current workforce estimate. We have not found reliable prevalence data for Emil’s particular pair of master’s qualifications.
UNFPA population estimate ↗ · IOA membership ↗ · 2016 editorial ↗A father’s dream. A family’s pride.
Medicine already runs in the family: Dad is an orthopaedic surgeon, Emil’s sister is a doctor, and his wife Ponnu is a doctor too.
With his MS Orthopaedics success, Emil is the only one besides Dad in the family to become an orthopaedic surgeon. A shared profession now has a shared specialty.
Dad’s dream of seeing his children become doctors has grown into a family story. This milestone adds a particularly special chapter: his son following him into orthopaedics. For all of us, a moment we will always be proud of.
The family now has two orthopaedic surgeons.
We’re officially out of excuses for bad posture.
Where the story began
Before the exams, the degrees and the big screen, there was this little boy and his mummy. Some things change. Being her boy isn’t one of them.
The qualifications got longer. Mummy’s right to tell him what to do remains unchanged.
The family’s version of the story
He takes precision seriously. Himself? Thankfully, much less so. A small roast, served with a very large amount of love.
Even Emil would have asked for a second opinion on that prediction.
It insists on looking annoyingly bright.
He likes things done properly. We are hoping this does not extend to proofreading these jokes.
That’s what siblings are for. Encouragement, emotional support, and revisionist history.
A proper standing ovation
Every celebration of Emil deserves a celebration of Ponnu. A doctor herself, his wife, his pillar of support, and the person standing beside him through the long road to this moment.
The qualifications are his. The pride, the journey and this milestone are theirs.
He has two master’s degrees. Ponnu has the experience of living with the candidate. We know which one deserves its own ceremony.
One milestone. Two smiles.
Emil and Ponnu at his UK graduation. Another chapter of this journey, celebrated side by side.
He wore the gown. She had already lived through the coursework.
Also in the credits / 2026
Alongside this milestone, Emil appeared in Thudakkam this year.
Apparently, two master’s degrees weren’t enough letters after his name. He needed end credits too.
Doctor. Actor. Apparently sleep was optional.
From the personal album
A photo worth keeping. And, knowing Emil, probably introduced with a very casual “Oh, this one?”
The family group chat would like to remind him that celebrity photos do not exempt him from being roasted.
Off duty. Fully booked.
The nieces remain spectacularly unimpressed by postgraduate qualifications. Uncle duty continues as normal.
The original fan club
Brother. Husband. Uncle. Doctor. Actor. Still the person we get to embarrass at family gatherings.
The jokes are ours. The hard work was his.
We’re ridiculously proud of you, Emil.
The appreciation wall
A memory, a proud moment, or a roast he will absolutely try to top. Leave him something worth reading.
